SeekWell reaches end of life on July 31, 2026, and thousands of teams that relied on it to push SQL results into Google Sheets, Slack, and Excel now need a replacement. This guide compares the strongest SeekWell alternatives, browser-based and desktop, with honest notes on what each one does well and where it falls short. Already decided? SaturnSQL
SaturnSQL is a browser-based collaborative SQL editor with scheduled queries and Google Sheets export, the core of what most teams use SeekWell for. Write a query, share it with your team, set a daily or weekly schedule, and the results land in a Google Sheet automatically.
On top of the SeekWell-style workflow, you get a shared query library so the team is not rewriting the same SQL, schema-aware autocomplete in the editor, multiple result tabs, and CSV and Excel export. The Pro plan adds an AI assistant that drafts and explains queries using your actual schema. Currently supports PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, Microsoft SQL Server, Amazon Redshift, and DynamoDB.
Where it falls short of SeekWell today: SaturnSQL does not yet support BigQuery or Snowflake, and the only sync destination is Google Sheets (no Slack messages or Salesforce object writes). If your SeekWell setup is mostly Postgres or MySQL to Google Sheets on a schedule, SaturnSQL is a near drop-in replacement at a fraction of the cost of ThoughtSpot Sync.
Pricing: Free tier available. Paid plans start from โฌ19/month per user.
ThoughtSpot Sync [Official migration path]
ThoughtSpot Sync is what ThoughtSpot officially recommends SeekWell customers move to. It covers a broader set of destinations than SeekWell did: Google Sheets, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Salesforce, HubSpot, and more. If you used SeekWell mainly to write back to Salesforce or push to Slack channels, this is the closest like-for-like replacement.
The catch is that Sync is bundled into the ThoughtSpot analytics platform and is sold as part of an enterprise contract rather than a self-serve subscription. Teams that were paying SeekWell's $50โ$200/month plans often experience a meaningful price jump when moving to ThoughtSpot.
Pricing: Enterprise contract, talk to sales.
Hightouch & Census [Reverse ETL]
If your SeekWell setup was mostly reverse ETL, pushing warehouse data into Salesforce, HubSpot, Customer.io, or other operational tools, then Hightouch and Census are the modern category leaders. Both connect to BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, and Postgres, and sync to dozens of destinations.
They are not SQL editors, so pair them with a separate query tool like SaturnSQL (for Postgres/MySQL/Redshift) or DBeaver. Better fit than SeekWell if write-back to business apps was the main workflow.
Pricing: Both offer free tiers. Paid plans typically start around $350โ$500/month.
Query Streams
Query Streams is a narrowly focused SeekWell alternative: live SQL inside Excel and Google Sheets, on-demand or on a cron schedule. No Slack, no Salesforce, just spreadsheet-first workflows. It also supports Airtable, Smartsheet, Baserow, and a handful of other destinations.
Good fit if your team is spreadsheet-native and you just want fresh data in cells without thinking about it. There is no full SQL editor experience, so it pairs better with another tool if your analysts also write ad-hoc queries.
Pricing: Free trial. Paid plans from $25/month.
Hex
Hex is a collaborative data workspace that combines SQL, Python, and no-code cells in a notebook interface. If SeekWell was the simple end of your data stack and you want to graduate to building dashboards, visualizations, and interactive data apps for stakeholders, Hex is a serious upgrade.
It connects to most warehouses, including BigQuery and Snowflake, and supports scheduling. The trade-off is complexity: it is a notebook, not a focused SQL workspace, and the learning curve is real if your team just wants SQL on a schedule.
Pricing: Free tier. Paid plans from $36/month per editor.
Mode
Mode is a BI tool with a strong SQL editor at its core and scheduled report delivery via email, Slack, and webhooks. It is more analyst-oriented than SeekWell was, with rich charts and dashboards layered on top of SQL.
Sensible upgrade path if you find yourself wanting visualizations and a real reporting layer alongside the scheduled-SQL workflow you had in SeekWell. Now owned by ThoughtSpot, like SeekWell was, so worth checking the long-term roadmap before standardizing on it.
Pricing: Free Studio plan. Business plans contact sales.
Desktop Alternatives [Requires installation]
If you only need ad-hoc querying and can live without scheduled syncs to Sheets, a local SQL client is the cheapest option. None of these handle the SeekWell "run on a cron and push results somewhere" workflow on their own, so pair them with a separate scheduler if that is your main use case.
DBeaver
DBeaver is a universal database tool that connects to nearly everything: PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, and more. Powerful for developers who manage multiple database types and want ER diagrams, advanced data export, and SQL formatting.
Pricing: Free Community Edition. Pro version from $25/month.
Beekeeper Studio
Beekeeper Studio is a modern, cross-platform SQL client with a clean UI. Supports MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite, SQL Server, Redshift, BigQuery, and more. Local-first and privacy-friendly if cloud collaboration is not a requirement.
Pricing: Free Community Edition. Ultimate from $7/month.
DataGrip
DataGrip by JetBrains is an advanced database IDE with IntelliJ-style code intelligence, refactoring, and version control integration. Best for developers who already use JetBrains tools and want deep IDE features.
Pricing: 30-day free trial. From $24.90/month.
TablePlus
TablePlus is a lightweight, native database GUI with a clean UI and fast performance. Great for developers who want a quick way to browse tables, edit data, and run queries without IDE overhead. Available on macOS, Windows, and Linux.
Pricing: Free tier (limited tabs). License from $89 one-time.
Which one should you choose?
Choose SaturnSQL if your SeekWell workflow is mostly Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server, or Redshift pushed to Google Sheets on a schedule, and you want a self-serve, browser-based tool with a free tier and a shared query library for the team.
Choose ThoughtSpot Sync if you need the full set of SeekWell destinations (Slack, Salesforce, HubSpot, Teams) and are willing to take on an enterprise contract, or if you are already a ThoughtSpot customer.
Choose Query Streams if your team lives in Excel or Sheets and you only need fresh SQL data in cells, with no need for a separate query editor.
Choose Hex or Mode if SeekWell was the lightweight end of a bigger data stack and you want to graduate to a real analytics workspace with notebooks, charts, and dashboards.
Choose DBeaver, Beekeeper, DataGrip, or TablePlus if you do not actually need scheduled syncs and can replace SeekWell with a good local SQL client plus an existing scheduler.
Most of these have free tiers or trials, so the cheapest path is to try the top two against your real workflow before standardizing.

Frequently asked questions
When is SeekWell shutting down?
SeekWell reaches end of life on July 31, 2026. ThoughtSpot, which acquired SeekWell in 2021, has confirmed normal service through that date, after which scheduled queries stop, automated alerts cease, and the product becomes inaccessible. All remaining customer data is deleted within 30 days of shutdown. Read the official announcement.
What is the best SeekWell alternative for Google Sheets exports?
For Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server, or Redshift teams that mostly schedule SQL to Google Sheets, SaturnSQL is the closest replacement: browser-based editor, shared query library, scheduled queries, and Google Sheets delivery, with a free tier and โฌ19/mo paid plans. Query Streams is the most spreadsheet-native option. ThoughtSpot Sync is the broadest official path if you also need Slack and Salesforce.
What does ThoughtSpot recommend instead of SeekWell?
ThoughtSpot officially recommends migrating to ThoughtSpot Sync, which covers Google Sheets, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Salesforce, HubSpot, and more. It is sold as part of the ThoughtSpot platform under an enterprise contract, so smaller teams often look at self-serve alternatives.
How do I migrate my queries from SeekWell?
Copy each SQL query out of SeekWell, recreate it in your new tool, and re-add the schedule and destination. We have written a detailed SeekWell to SaturnSQL migration guide with step-by-step instructions.
Is there a free SeekWell alternative?
Yes. SaturnSQL has a free tier covering the core SeekWell workflow. DBeaver Community and Beekeeper Studio Community are free desktop clients but do not include scheduled syncs to Google Sheets. SQLPad is free and self-hosted if you want to run the scheduler yourself.
Is SeekWell the same as ThoughtSpot Sync?
No. ThoughtSpot acquired SeekWell in 2021 and is sunsetting the standalone product. ThoughtSpot Sync is the spiritual successor inside the ThoughtSpot platform but it is a different product with different pricing and packaging, not a free upgrade for existing SeekWell customers.
What if I was using SeekWell for Snowflake or BigQuery?
SaturnSQL does not yet support Snowflake or BigQuery. If those are your warehouses, look at Hex, Mode, ThoughtSpot Sync, or Query Streams, all of which connect to both. If you also run a Postgres or MySQL operational database, SaturnSQL still fits that side of your stack.
